Freda Walters holds a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Therapy (UCT). She has worked across the public sector (Department of Health and Department of Basic Education), academia (University of Cape Town) and at an international NPO. Highlights of her experience and research include whole school improvement initiatives, curriculum development and evaluation, early childhood development, implementing an initial teacher education pilot, design and monitoring of a cross country advocacy project on holistic learner development, initiating collective impact stakeholder groups and leading child participation in policy development.
Her particular interests lie in using evidence generation and strategic collaboration between partners to drive systemic changes in the education sector that will improve learner outcomes. She joined JET as a Specialist Manager.
