JET Education Services has a vacancy for an Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Intern in its M&E Division. The intern will support the Division in delivering high quality outputs which supports an evidence-based approached to education policy and planning and which sets high quality standards for the education sector.
Location: JET Office, Parktown, Johannesburg
The intern will be appointed on a fixed-term contract that will run for one year. It may lead to employment as an M&E officer, subject to performance.
Responsibilities of the position:
• Provides support to the M&E division on specific projects
• Supports financial management
• Communications to internal and external stakeholders
• Data collection and analysis
• Reporting and dissemination
• Business development
• Divisional and organisational development
• Knowledge dissemination
Knowledge, skills and attributes required:
• Bachelor’s Qualification in the Social Sciences i.e. development studies, education, psychology, economics or similar; or a post-graduate qualification in M&E. A post-graduate qualification is preferred. An M&E qualification will be an added advantage
• Knowledge and understanding of research and M&E principles, practices and how they relate to education
• Demonstrated competency in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies
• Attention to detail
• Time management skills
• A keen interest in research, M&E and education issues
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with all levels of project stakeholders
• Confidentiality-the intern will work with sensitive information which must be treated as confidential
• Able to work independently and in a team
• Must have a South African ID or a valid work permit
