JET Education Services has a vacancy for an experienced Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist to join its’ Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Division and take the lead in conceptualising and delivering high-quality M&E work which supports evidence-based approaches to education policy, planning and implementation and sets high-quality standards for the education sector. A permanent employment contract will be offered subject to a three-month probation period.
The Senior M&E Specialist will work alongside the Executive Manager: M&E, to conceptualise and deliver monitoring and evaluation projects which include internal support for JET projects/programmes and external evaluations and M&E support (development of theory of change, indicators, M&E frameworks and provision of other M&E support services) to clients.

JOB SPECIFICATION
Education:
- A Masters degree in a relevant discipline (M&E, research psychology, development studies, economics, statistics, education).
Experience:
- A minimum of 10 years of evaluation and M&E experience, including experience conceptualising and managing evaluations and other M&E assignments.
- Required skills:
- Conceptualisation and leading evaluations and other M&E assignments (i.e. Theory of Change/indicators/M&E framework development). ·
- Instrument development.
- Qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis.
- Report writing (lead author of evaluation reports and/or other publications), data visualisation and presentation skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, and communication in other South African and/or African languages would be an advantage.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, problem-solving ability, and conflict resolution.
- Client and stakeholder relationship management.
- M&E project, budget and team management.
- Proven skills in organization, including time management, ability to work under pressure and on multiple projects at one time and deliver quality work in accordance with deadlines.
Knowledge of:
- A wide range of M&E approaches and methods, development and trends in evaluation and M&E and the education sector.
