South African Bootcamp
#OpenupYourThinking is an opportunity to (1) contribute meaningfully to solutions and pressures being placed on the education systems using an evidence-based approach; (2) allow for real time inputs to be made into other national education processes, such as NASCEE, IPASA, DBE, NECT and others; and (3) keep a group of young researchers meaningfully occupied during the lockdown period, while giving them an opportunity to grow as they will be working under the guidance of experienced researchers."

Commonwealth Researchers in Pursuit
The Commonwealth Secretariat on experiencing the success of the Bootcamp methodology has partnered with JET Education Services to bring online the Commonwealth Researchers in Pursuit Bootcamp which started on 5 June 2020. #OpenupYourThinking has now provided more than 400 young researchers across 3 Bootcamps the opportunity to add meaningful contributions to not only the thinking around the implications that COVID-19 has on the education sector in South Africa, the Southern African Development Community (SADC) and Commonwealth countries at a macro; meso; and micro-level, but on the pressures being placed on education systems using an evidence-based approach. Currently, 12 reports and 2 tools have been developed and a further 6 reports will be released within the next 2 weeks.
